Course Description A BSc Computer science degree from the university of Pretoria provides bredth and depth in computing skills. It equips students with problem-solving abilities, and gives them a foundation for continued learning in an IT career and for producing high quality software. | What does the progamme entail? BSc Computer Science degree can be completed in a minimum of three years. The curriculum conforms to the highest international standards and will give students a foundation in all the important areas of computer science. Students will study a rich variety of computer science modules that emphasise the most up to date ways of developing software to be used in the IT industry. |
Career Possibilities This programme includes a significant number of modules in mathematics, statistics and the natural sciences. These modules strengthen the kind of thinking done when one develops software and enhances problem-solving abilities. It also provides a basis for research in computer science, which often relies on a certain level of mathematical skill and maturity. 2.BSc Information and Knowledge Systems | |

Course Description The programme is ideal for students who are interested in computer science, as well as in one of the following arears of specialisation: data science, genetics, geographical information systems, IT, law, music and software development | What does the progamme entail? The programme can be completed in a minimum of three years. It aims to prepare students for pursuing a career in the IT industry. By enabling students to take a second major other than computer science, students are provided with a wider background. Computer science has a multidisciplinary application domain and the purpose of the programme is reflected in the composition of the curriculum by combining the field of computer science with other fields of study. |
