Felipe obtained his Veterinary Degree in 2008 at Mayor University of Chile. After his graduation, he moved to Canada to begin a two-year equine surgery internship program at Milton Equine Hospital, followed by a large animal surgery and medicine internship at the Ontario Veterinary College, also in Canada. Upon the completion of his second internship, Felipe was accepted in an MSc program at the Austral University of Chile, followed by a PhD at Andres Bello University, also in Chile. His research projects, focused on animal diseases and biomedicine through basic sciences, provided him with excellent research capabilities, resulting so far in 12 scientific publications, 4 oral presentation in worlwide veterinary conferences and several poster presentations in international scientific meetings. Furthermore, Felipe have been actively involved in teaching senior veterinary students since his graduation, and during 2017 he complete a University Teaching Skills Diploma. At the end of 2018, Felipe joined Egypt Equine Aid, an NGO that rescues working equines in the surroundings of Cairo (Egypt) and takes care of endurance riding and show jumping horses of the area. Finally, Felipe joined the Companion Animal Clinical Studies Department in August 2019 as a Resident in Equine Surgery.

Research Expertise/Interest


With 13 years of practice as equine veterinarian, Felipe's main interest are Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery, as wells as the education of Veterinary Medicine students and horse owners.
