Victor Pretorius Memorial Lectures

This lecture series was introduced by the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pretoria during 1992, to honour one of the leading South African scientists for outstanding contributions during a career in chemistry. The presenters of the lectures are chosen annually by the Department from the various recognised fields of chemistry. The chosen lecturer is requested to present a formal lecture, known as the Victor Pretorius Memorial Lecture, to invited guests of the Department, staff and students of the Department. This is usually followed by another lecture to students and staff.
