Devon Clack, a final-year student at the University of Pretoria, has been selected as the runner-up in a Honeywell competition on innovative use of simulation. He is going to attend the Honeywell Users Group conference in Berlin.

Tuks Microbrewery (operated by the Department of Chemical Engineering) garnered a hat-trick at the inaugural inter-varsity brewing competition on the 9th of August 2008; also winning the overall competition.
