SAICE awarded their prize for the best Master's degree dissertation in transport over the last 3 years in South Africa to UP student Lindiwe Mathebula. Lindiwe studied the performance of trunk-feeder and direct routes in Bus Rapid Transit systems using empirical data collected on the Rea Vaya system in Johannesburg. The project was a part of the activities of the BRT+ Centre of Excellence, of which the CTD is a member.
Sumashni Moodley, also a UP student who recenty completed her M.Sc studies, received a commendation as a runner up. Her study developed an index to measure integration at multimodal public transport interchanges.
