Dr Heather Legodi is a qualified dietitian, registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa.
She qualified with a PhD in Paediatric Nutrition from the Department of Paediatrics at Wits University. She is currently the Head of Department and Senior Lecturer within the Department of Human Nutrition at the University of Pretoria. She studied and published her PhD findings in a local and international peer-reviewed journal. Her research focused on the dietary and lifestyle practices of rural and urban adolescents in South Africa.
She obtained her Master's Degree from the Univerity of Alabama A&M. Her Master's thesis focused on the nutritional composition of Shiitake mushrooms. She was also featured as one of the speakers at the 2016 International Society of Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) conference.
She is an alumnus of the African Nutrition Leadership Programme and is passionate about people and understanding what they are at different stages of life. We cannot intervene or assist clients without understanding what factors influence their eating behaviours.
