18 November 2024 - 22 November 2024
Onderstepoort Campus - University of Pretoria
Organized by the University of Pretoria and funded by Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD) within the DGD-ITM Framework Agreement. The workshop in Bacterial Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and Comparative Genomics using Bioinformatics tools, has been specially designed for researchers that want to do WGS and Comparative genomics analysis, preferably with their genome sequence data from bacteria using various open freeware software and train researchers on the existing data. The course aims to enable you to tackle any basic bioinformatics problem related to bacterial WGS. During the course, you will be exposed to all the basic aspects of bacterial genome analyses.
Registration and enquiries To secure your place in the workshop, please apply via email to the organiser, Henriette van Heerden, on or before 31 October 2024. Along with your application, kindly provide a letter from your supervisor verifying your existing or planned WGS analysis within the next six months. The supervisor’s letter should include details about the organisms involved in the existing or planned sequencing and the type of analyses you intend to perform
