The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) and the University of Pretoria, is delighted to invite you to this enlightening event.

We are honoured to present Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister of Electricity, as the distinguished speaker for this event. Dr Ramokgopa will share invaluable insights on the crucial topic of energy sovereignty and its significance in achieving a sustainable and equitable energy transition.

This public lecture is a part of our joint partnership called the Just Energy Transition Platform (JET Platform), which is a partnership between the UNDP, the PCC, University of Johannesburg and the University of Pretoria.

The Platform is fostering transdisciplinary discussions, conducting cutting-edge research, and generating thought leadership for the implementation of a just energy transition in South Africa. Following the public lecture, there will be an engaging discussion session.

The Energy Economics Unit in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences leads the JET related research at the University of Pretoria.
