The School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, invites you to a webinar with the theme: Towards digital inclusion: future directions to address the global public sector digital skills gap.

The pace of digitisation has accelerated during the past three years which resulted in increased pressure on individuals, workers and employers to adapt to the ever-changing life and work environment. In order to drive equitable recovery, government, academics and corporate leaders were required to join together to equip the workforce with the evolving digital skills that underpin every job of the future.

While many researchers made numerous estimates about the impact of this skills shift, few have examined the specific implications for the public sector, as well as the challenges or barriers to bridging the digital skills gap. This event provides a snapshot of what the actual digital skills gaps are for the public sector, how we can help deepen our understanding of the effects of the digital skills gap in the public sector, as well as explore some of the essential changes we must make if we are to successfully move towards digital inclusion.
