Posted on April 30, 2023

FANRPAN and partners convened a regional webinar for the four countries and other interested parties to share experiences and key lessons on the regional Tier 2 Greenhouse Gas inventory compilation. Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and Mozambique were selected to participate in a regional inventory support project with financial support from the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries.

The project was implemented by the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) with support from the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre (NZAGRC) and the University of Pretoria (UP).

From UP, Dr. Linde du Toit, a lecturer of the Department of Animal Science, spoke at the webinar. Dr. du Toit specialises in small stock nutrition and supervises students on various research topics. This webinar was important for the Department of Animal Science because greenhouse gas emissions are a growing concern in the livestock production industry.
