Prof Abubeker Hassen

Abubeker Hassen is a Senior Lecturer in Ruminant Nutrition/ Pasture Science at the Department of Animal and Wildlife Sciences, University of Pretoria (UP). His research interest is mainly on strategic utilisation of drought tolerant fodder trees and shrubs as well as forage legumes, and manipulation of the rumen environment using novel plant materials and additives to improve poor quality forage utilisation by ruminants while reducing the green house gas emissions from livestock production.
