About us

Alumni Relations, a division of the Department of University Relations, keeps you in touch with your Alma Mater. The unit maintains channels of communication with alumni and creates opportunities for them to continue playing an active role in the advancement of UP.

Graduates of the University of Pretoria (UP) remain members of the alumni family for life.

Alumni Relations staff provides benefits and services for alumni, as well as opportunities for alumni to network and socialise with each other and to re-connect with their residence, student organisation, academic department, faculty and alma mater in general.

UP has more than 250 000 graduates locally and abroad. Staying in touch keeps UP connected to its alumni who are making a difference in their respective fields within and beyond South Africa's borders. We are proud of our graduates who are playing key roles in the economy, social, political, sporting and cultural arenas, making a positive difference worldwide. Your successes elevate the profile of the University and the quality of its qualifications and impacts positively on the marketability of all our graduates.

As students, lecturers and other staff come and go, our alumni remain a constant, but growing body of UP ambassadors. As part of UP's alumni and as Convocation members you have representation at the highest level - in the University Council.  Alumni also enjoy other tangible benefits.
