Congratulations to Ian le Roux on the approval of his study leave for the three-month period, 1 April – 30 June 2007.

                                        “OTHER LECTURE DAYS”: 1st Semester 2007

 

Tuesday 1 May is a public holiday (Workers day). Please note that on
• Wednesday, 2 May 2007, a Monday timetable will be followed
• Thursday, 3 May 2007, a Tuesday timetable will be followed

Honours lecturers should arrange lectures amongst each other.

                                                        APPLICATION FOR LEAVE

 

When you apply for leave via the UP portlet, you are requested to choose the option to print your application. Please give this printout to Alta.

                                                  TEXTBOOKS: 2nd semester 2007

 

The list of textbooks for the 2nd semester 2006 is available on the departmental notice board. Each module co-ordinator for the 2nd semester should please inform Yvonne of any changes for 2007 on or before Friday, 30 March.

                                                        MSc & PhD SUPERVISORS

 

All supervisors of masters dissertations and doctoral theses are reminded to supply Yvonne with the following information:

The title of the dissertation or thesis
The name(s) and electronic CV's of the proposed external examiners

This information is needed six months prior to the submission of the examination copies. The formal submission dates are 30 April (for the Spring graduation ceremony) and 30 August (for the Autumn graduation ceremony) annually.

                                                        RESEARCH OUTPUTS, etc

 

Please remember to inform me immediately of any research outputs, intended conference participation, research visits, etc. You can obtain the relevant forms from me and complete them as soon as possible, but at least three weeks before you leave.

When an article has been published, could you please provide Ronél with two reprints as well as a short summary (in popular language) of your findings.

Ronél should also be informed when an article has been accepted for publication. If it suits you, you can even submit the “popular” summary at this stage already.
