Prof. Nigel Bennett
Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences
Prof. Bennett’s research is focused on ecology, animal physiology, and animal behaviour. His work is predominantly on the sociobiology of African rodent moles (Bathyergidae) and in particular the extrinsic and intrinsic factors that have led to the development of sociality in this remarkable endemic African family. His research group is fundamentally interested in elucidating the modes and mechanisms that are responsible for reproductive suppression in non- reproductive females of the various social species.
