Welcome to the Procurement Division

The Procurement Division of the University of Pretoria procures goods and services using best value practices while working collaboratively to meet the needs of the University and its customers. It is our mission to ensure that the University’s procurements are conducted in an open and fair environment whilst consistently promoting competition in full compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

University Procurement Policies were created to assist each University employee who buys goods and services with University funds to be good stewards of University resources.

  • coordinating the procurement of goods and services for all academic, administrative, support and research departments of the University

  • securing competitive quotes and tenders to obtain maximum value for University spend

  • researching market and developing new sources of supplies to ensure availability

  • fostering and maintaining professional relationships with suppliers and customers

  • ensuring compliance with government laws, regulations and University policies

  • ensuring contract compliance
