Welcome to the University of Pretoria's Department of Physiology

Human Physiology forms a vital part of the curriculum for the majority of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Physiology is also presented as part of some undergraduate courses that are offered by other faculties, such as Natural and Agricultural Sciences, and Humanities and Education. Human Physiology is currently the most popular subject in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Courses on offer include 66 different undergraduate and postgraduate modules; the number of students enrolled per year totals approximately 3000 undergraduate and 150 postgraduate students.

Active research that takes place in several fields forms a large part of the departmental activities.
