Welcome to the House Mags website!

The 26^th of March 1982 saw the official opening of House Mags (previously known as Magrietjie), a female residence at the University of Pretoria. Today, many years later, Mags has flourished into a residence inspiring passion and excellence. House Mags is called “home” by more than 330 ladies consisting of First Year students (known as Spikkels), Semis (or second year students), Seniors and a House Committee.

The residence is governed by a management team consisting of the house parents and ten elected leaders, known as the House Committee.

Our residence is guided by six values, namely Pride, Ownership, Be the best you can be, Mutual Respect, Integrity, and Acceptance. We consistently strive towards our vision of “establishing a sisterhood and a sense of belonging in a home that inspires passion and excellence”. The pink passion that flows through each lady’s veins is what truly makes us MAGSnificent.
