Hippokrates

            

Hippokrates residence is situated about 500m away from the Prinshof medical campus and houses more than 160 students from different backgrounds. It is lavished with scholars of various professional interests in health sciences from provinces all over South Africa together with an international community of students who have been registered for health sciences courses in the University of Pretoria. Despite the diversity and different ethnic and national backgrounds, Hippokrates students form one big family that lives together in harmony, ensuring a marvellous living, listening and learning environment.

The rooms in Hippo (as is warmly regarded by those live in it and love it) vary from bachelor rooms with a bathroom and toilet and small kitchen (and some with balconies) to double room living arrangements. These also include the Post Doc rooms most of which are bachelors. All rooms also have cable internet connection which serves for academic convenience, creating a learning and research-friendly environment. The different facilities include: Study centres and discussion rooms, Computer lab accessible to all Hippo students, TV room, entertainment or social room, braai area, beautiful gardens, Gym, designated underground parking area and laundry room with washing machines and dryers and outdoor washing lines. There is also equipment available for recreation or professional sporting purposes and this includes: Pool table and equipment, table tennis equipment and other sporting codes which the students have the privilege of being a part of such as soccer, netball, jogging groups and aerobics.

Hippo is a home way away from home; truly an environment that fosters a spirit of excellence in the different faculties of life be it academic, social, health, you name it.
