CONDUCTOR

An alumnus of the Hartt School of Music and the New England Conservatory in the USA where he obtained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music, respectively, Mxolisi Duda was born in Cradock in the Eastern Cape.

A singer, vocal coach/teacher, a music adjudicator and choral music clinician, Mr Duda is a musician of versatile talents who, throughout his stay in the United States, and since he got back in South Africa regularly receives invitations from different music groups to lead and conduct music clinics and workshops. He has had the honour of singing lead tenor roles in operas such as Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, The Magic Flute, Trial by Jury, The Merry Widow,Orpheus in the Underworld and the abridged performance of Massenet’s Cendrillon. This is his tenth year as Conductor and Logistics Coordinator of the UP Ovuwa Cultural Ensemble at the University of Pretoria.
