#TuksRugby can win four trophies in the Carlton Cup Series

Posted on August 01, 2017

The coaches of TuksRugby must be doing something right as four of the club’s teams are through to their respective finals of the Carlton Cup Series.

A definite highlight will be the UP-Tuks encounter against Quins-Bobbies on Saturday at Loftus Versveld.
Chris Buitendach (head coach) is quietly confident that his team could add another trophy to their ever growing collection but years of coaching has also made him a realist.

“It is a final, to be more exact it the ‘Carltonbeker-finaal’, and everybody knows that it would be foolish to take anything for granted before the final whistle has blown. What happened in the build-up to the final will count for absolutely nothing. It is a new game with its unique challenges. The team who can withstand the pressure the best will prevail in the end.”

Those who saw both teams play predict that it is going to be a closely contested game where one crucial mistake could mean the difference between winning or losing.

The Carltonbeker-final fixtures are:

Wednesday, 2 August:
Loftus B:
20:00: Naka Bulle under-20 vs. Tuks Young Team;
18.00: Tuks under-20 vs. Centurion under-20.

Loftus C:
20:00: Tuks-Fezelas vs Naka Bulle II.
18.00: Naka Bulle III vs. QBR III.

Saturday, 5 August:
Loftus Stadium:
14.30: QBR 1 vs. UP-Tuks 1.
