#TuksCricket: Assupol TuksCricket Players Honoured at 2016 CSA Awards

At the amateur awards breakfast, Assupol TuksCricket player and University of Pretoria student, Evan Jones was awarded the CSA Student Cricketer of the Year Award. Evan is a BA Extended Programme student at the University of Pretoria and has been an invaluable member of TuksCricket this past season. At the 2016 Varsity Cricket Tournament, Evan was named Batsman of the Tournament after scoring 391 runs at an average of 49.00, scoring 113 runs along with breaking many other records at the tournament. Evan was also selected for the USSA Cricket team for 2016 and was named the Assupol TuksCricket Premier League Batsman of the 2015/2016 season.

On Tuesday evening at the CSA awards, two TuksCricket players were also rewarded for their contribution during the past season. Another University of Pretoria student, Lungi Ngidi, was awarded the Africa T20 Cup Rising Star Award after his great performance during the 2015/2016 Africa T20 Cup. After that tournament, Lungi was selected for the Northerns Senior Provincial Team and made his debut for the Multiply Titans. Lungi is currently a student in the BSocial Sciences programme and is an anchor in any TuksCricket team that he plays in. Lungi was awarded the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 2016 Annual Titans Awards, he was also selected for the USSA Cricket team for 2016 and it was recently announced that he has been included in the Titans squad for the 2016/2017 Season.

Albie Morkel was the other TuksCricket player that was honoured for his contribution this past season. He was awarded the RAM Slammer of the Season Award after his performance in the RAM Slam tournament during the 2015/2016 Season. Albie has been part of TuksCricket for many years and when he is away on National Duty or playing for the Multiply Titans, he is always available for TuksCricket matches.

Congratulations to these three players on their incredible achievements this past season as a lot of hard work goes into their preparation. TuksSport wishes them well for the preparation for the new season.
