Four doctorates graduate in Tourism Management

The Tourism Management Division – the smallest division in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences – proudly conferred four doctoral degrees at UP’s at 2015 Autumn Graduation Ceremony.
 
Dr Lekaota’s doctoral studies entailed a case study from Lesotho on the perceptions of local communities’ role and awareness in rural tourism development, while Dr Kavita’s studies was themed ‘Towards an integrative tourism development framework for local communities in Namibia’.

Dr Kruger’s doctorate was obtained after completing a study on spectators' contribution to the environmental dimension of sustainable event sports tourism, and Dr De Klerk’s thesis studied the compatibility of mining and ecotourism in the Limpopo Province.

Prof Berendien Lubbe, Head of the Tourism Management Division, would like to congratulate these four doctorate students with this great accomplishment on behalf of the whole Division.
