The USSA Squash was a very eventful and exciting one. Spirits were high and competition was in the air as the TuksSquash team began their 2015 USSA campaign. The team knew that it would be a tough week for them if they wanted to hopefully take on 4 time USSA Squash Champions, UJ in the final.

The team played some outstanding squash, with both the men and women delivering some top squash defeating Limpopo, TUT, NMMU and NWU-Pukke to progress to the semi-final. The University of Stellenbosch was no match for the determined TuksSquash team who progressed to the finals with a 20 – 5 victory.

Team Captain Megan Page said “a final against UJ was an exciting fixture for us and nerves were high. We knew we were up against the big guns, with UJ having a very strong women side and men to back them up.” In a nail-biting final, the UJ women proved to be unbeatable and their number 2 from the men’s team managed to bring in the win for them - with the final score being 4-2 to UJ.

TuksSquash improved on their 4^th place finish in 2014 with their 2015 Silver. “We're looking forward to next year's USSA and are excited for the training that lies ahead, which will hopefully lead to TuksSquash bringing home the gold in 2015,” said Megan Page
