Not only did Steinhoff Maroela claim bragging rights for the next year but the proud koshuis will represent the University of Pretoria in next season’s Steinhoff Koshuis Rugby Championship. It will be their fourth campaign since the competition’s inception after Steinhoff Maroela appeared in the first three editions of the Steinhoff Koshuis Rugby Championship.

Fullback Francois Esselen had a stellar game for Steinhoff Maroela as he scored a try and contributed 12 points via his boot.

Steinhoff Mopanie led the way for most of the match with two converted tries in the first half followed by a converted try in the opening minutes of the second half.

Steinhoff Maroela were kept in the match by Esselen and scored a converted try in the dying minutes to clinch an unlikely win against Steinhoff Mopanie.
