Applications for registrar training posts can be sent to [email protected]. Please be advised that applications are received in academic semesters (1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December). Your application will not be carried over to the next academic semester and it is your responsibility to re-send your application in the next academic semester should you still be interested in a registrar post and in order to keep your application particulars current. It is also your responsibility to update your application whenever your circumstances change within each academic semester.

Your application will be sent to any hospital on the academic service learning platform of the University of Pretoria where a vacancy may arise. Kindly be advised that your appointment will be subject to the employment conditions of the respective Province and Hospital responsible for the recruitment and selection.

2. Curriculum Vitae
3. Three references
4. Your full academic record

Minimum Requirements for consideration:

1. MBChB or equivalent medical degree
2. Successful completion of medical internship and community service
3. Registration with the HPCSA as medical practitioner (independent practice)

Recommended requirements:

1. Successful completion of the FC(Psych)SA Part I examinations
2. Work experience as a medical practitioner in psychiatry
3. Diploma in Mental Health (DMH)
