Some months ago the Institute for Security Studies started a campaign on UN Security Council reform with the name Elect the Council. The Institute is currently circulating and improving its proposals for transition to a system where countries will eventually be elected to the UN Security Council for three- and five-year terms following a 15-year transitional period.
