Mr Anthony Bizos

Anthony Bizos joined the department in 2015. He holds a BA (Honours) degree in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand, a MA degree in International Relations from the University of Sussex, and a MA degree (with distinction) in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand. Anthony also has a post-graduate certificate in Research methodology from the Methods Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2014 Anthony was a visiting research fellow at the Centre for International Studies and Research (CERI) at the Paris Institute for Political Studies (Sciences-Po). Between 2014 and 2015, Anthony was also an associate researcher at the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). Anthony has taught widely in the field of International Relations, including at the Diplomatic Academy of the South African Department of International Relations and Co-operation (DIRCO).

Research focus:

Research Methodology, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, International Relations Theory, norm-diffusion and localisation in international relations, the Responsibility to Protect (R2P).
