Postgraduate degrees in Plant Science                

 

 

 

 

The Department of Plant Science offers the following honours degrees:

BSc (Hons): Plant Science   
(with specialization in one of the following fields)
Plant Diversity
Plant Ecology
Plant Physiology / Plant Biotechnology

BSc (Hons): (Option) Medicinal Plant Science

 

Duration of the degree

The degree extends over one academic year for FULL-TIME STUDENTS and over one and a half to two consecutive years for PART-TIME STUDENTS.

Closing date

All applications for admission to the BSc Honours degree must preferably reach the
course co-coordinator, Dr. Emmanuel Tshikalange, by the 31st of October.

 


BSc (Hons): Biotechnology 
Suitably qualified candidates may also apply for the interdepartmental BScHons in Biotechnology degree with a supervisor in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences. Please follow the links below or consult the Department of Genetics that administers the degree.

MSc Biotechnology

Prospective candidates for all MSc and PhD programmes in the Department are required to contact the relevant researchers listed under the staff page to discuss a possible research project.

The Department has a number of postdoctoral fellows participating in each of the different research groups. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the relevant researchers listed under the staff page to discuss postdoctoral opportunities and research projects.
