Various projects undertaken by members of the Department accentuate the importance of community engagement to the Department. Some of these projects include:
‘Footnotes to Plato’: an informal philosophy discussion group which meets once a week. It is aimed at undergraduate students and is a platform to meet people and discuss a theme which is presented by a speaker, followed by a discussion and debate. Contact the administrators, Darryl Wardle or Stefan Smit on: [email protected]
In addition, members of the Department have been involved in teaching and consultation for various communities and institutions.
As of October 2013, we have been hosting a new and exciting series of weekly seminars for all our postgraduate students on Race and The Ethics of Discourse.
