Online registration will be made available in three formats:

  1. Students can register remotely at anytime daily without assistance from the telephonic registration help service.
  2. Students can register remotely between 07:30 and 16:00 daily, only during scheduled times (according to the registration schedules) if assistance from the telephonic registration help service (+27 (0) 12 420 5347), is required.
  3. Students can register without any assistance in the open labs (in the Informatorium, IT Building) on campus during office hours.

If students are  not able to register during the allocated time period which is set aside for online registration, they will be required to join the queues at self-registration.

System downtime

The UP system undergoes scheduled maintenance between 21:00 and 24:00 on Tuesdays. The system must be deemed unavailable during these times.

Registration help service

The telephonic Registration Help Service will be made available to students from 4 January to the 5 February 2016 as discussed above so that students can phone in if they encounter problems with online registration.

Registration e-mail service

Should the registration help service experience a high volume of calls and it is difficult to get through, student have to send an email to [email protected].

Self-registration in labs

Self-registration will only be available in the allocated labs on specific days which are indicated on the schedules for specific programmes. These are particularly applicable to programmes with unstructured curricula, i.e. where more electives/choices of modules make online registration potentially more complex. Students will be required to queue outside the labs until they are allowed to enter, after which they can register. Technical staff will be at hand to assist should problems arise.
