Prof Laurie Nathan, Director of the Centre for Mediation in Africa in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria, has been awarded a visiting professorship at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame in the United States. He will be based there from January to June 2017.
The Kroc Institute is one of the most prestigious peace institutes in the world and houses a database and research programme on peace agreements. Prof Nathan will undertake research on the 'post-conflict constitution as a peace agreement'. This is an exciting opportunity to break new ground in studies on sustaining peace in countries emerging from civil conflict.
