Peter Kotze, a student in the Faculty of Theology at the University of Pretoria (UP), participated in the G200 Youth Forum that took place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany from 6 to 10 April 2016. It was one of the largest international events organised for young leaders in 2016 in which more than 200 young leaders, students and academics, young members of parliaments, and representatives of the business world and governments from nearly 200 countries participated.

Originally called the G8 Youth Summit and later the G20 Youth Summit, this network for the advancement of the globe was expanded in 2013 to include four main platforms which ran in tandem with each other, namely the G200 Youth Summit, a conference, an international young parliamentarians' debate and joint sessions.

Peter participated in the G200 Youth Summit, where students and young experts in the field of international relations, economics, finance and law discussed various threats to global stability, as well as the way forward. He presented a paper titled 'Social risk factors shaping the global economy', as part of the committee 'New strategies for the financial sector and world economy'. His focus was primarily on organised crime and human trafficking as contributing factors to social and economic instability, and he acted as the Minister of Social Affairs as representative from South Africa in this regard.

As part of this great experience, Peter had fruitful interactions with young parliamentarians, policy-makers, democracy developers, students, researchers, academics and other representatives from all around the world. The final results of the G200 Youth Forum was sent to 193 heads of state, certain NGO's and some of the largest and most influential companies in the world.
