Celebrating achievers in the Department of Marketing Management

The Department of Marketing Management's annual prize-giving function took place on 14 April 2016 at the High Performance Centre (hpc). During this event, the Department's top performers were celebrated for their various achievements.
 
The Stephan and Pierre Viljoen Award, to the value of R45 000, will be used by the recipient, Ms Danita Potgieter, to invite an esteemed American scholar to visit the Department of Marketing Management and instruct students on experimental research design. Porsche South Africa sponsored prizes to the value of R15 000 for the best performer in Marketing Management on first- (Ms Anastasia Carnelley-Bruyns), second- (Ms Daniella Rodrigues) and third-year level (Ms Tayla Clipstone), as well as for the best BCom Honours in Marketing Management (Ms Megan Capitani) and MCom in Marketing Management student (Ms Welmarie Fourie). Consulta sponsored the prize for the best BCom Honours in Marketing Management research project to the value of R6 000, which was awarded to Ms Lauren Wainwright and Mr Dylan Newton.
 
A communality which all prize winners shared was their ambition and aspiration to be the best they could be and the support of family members. The prize winners mentioned different characteristics that contributed to their achievements, such as patience, ambition, and determination, as well as being hardworking, positive and diligent. They recommend being passionate about what you do or study and enjoying the student life while it lasts.
