TuksCricket win first match of Varsity Cricket 2016

Assupol TuksCricket started the Varsity Cricket campaign off well, winning their first match against Pukke at Senwes Park on Monday, 25 Janaury 2016.

Tuks won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pukke scored 160/6 in their 20 overs and Vincent Moore (4-0-37-3) and Reder van Rooyen (4-0-25-2) took the majority of the wickets for Tuks.

In reply, Assupol TuksCricket managed to win the match by 6 wickets in the 18th over, ending on 161/4. The PowerPlus Over was crucial for Tuks as they scored 34 runs. Sean Phillips (44 from 36 balls), Evan Jones (43 from 29 balls) and Blake Schraader (39 from 20 balls) were the batsmen that stood out for Tuks.

Schraader was awarded the Batsman of the Match award as well as the Man of the Match award for his for his great batting display which included 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Tuks have their first doubleheader match on Tuesday, 26 January 2016, when they play UCT at 10:00 at the PUK Oval and Kovsies at 14:00 at the Ibbies Oval.

Blake Schraader receiving his Man of the Match Award, he also received the Batsman of the Match Award.
