The Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department would like to congratulate Jean-Piere Theron and Raymond Jansen who have been selected to study at MIT in 2014 as exchange students. Our exchange agreement with MIT has also been renewed for another five years.

Jean-Piere and Raymond will be the fourth group of exchange students who will register for their third year of studies at MIT. It is expected that two students from MIT will study at the University of Pretoria next year.

The Department has a very proud history that normally one of our students is ranked as number one in the class at MIT. We trust that Jean-Piere and Raymond will continue with this tradition.

I would like to thank all the other students who have applied. You were all good applicants and I wish we could have sent more students to MIT.
