Law House Rugby rewrites history

Posted on September 14, 2015

The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria is proud to announce that Law House Rugby triumphed over fierce adversaries Sonop in the second league of the Steinhoff Residence Finale on 1 September 2015 - the first time that a Law House rugby team succeeds to walk away with the laurels.

Law House Rugby recovered from an early setback with a try from Jaco Beukes in the closing stages of the match which proved to be the final nail in the Sonop coffin. Law House Rugby’s coaches and team members definitely deserve a pat on the shoulders, especially when they left no doubt in the second half where the power in the second league lies, managing to silence Sonop supporters next to the field.

The Head of the Department of Commercial Law, Prof Stefan van Eck, handed the 'Man of the Match’ trophy to Theuns Reynolds, whilst a very proud Dean André Boraine handed the cup to victorious captain Frederich van der Walt and vice-captain Dian Rabie and the Law House Rugby team.  The ‘Old Law Boys’ were also extremely happy with their team’s performance and historic win.
