UP's Engineers Without Borders emerge as SA winners

Posted on February 09, 2016

The University of Pretoria (UP) chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-UP) won the Empowering Communities through Engineering Excellence Award for their projects at Kutumela Molefi Primary Farm School. This was the first time this award was presented by Engineers Without Borders South Africa (EWB-SA). The projects were done under the professional leadership of the EWB-UP chair for 2015, Paul Ssali. Mr Ssali was also voted the first ever student representative on the EWB-SA board of directors.

The 40 students who were enrolled in the JCP Community-based Project module of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology did their field work for the module via the EWB-UP projects. The students made videos about the project and these are available to view on YouTube:
