International Programmes and Agreements

The Department of Research and Innovation, International Cooperation Division, International Programmes and Agreements Unit’s (IPAU) objective is to strengthen University of Pretoria’s  (UP) international linkages through facilitating and assessing current partnerships, identifying strategic partnerships and to provide overall support to the internationalization of UP.

IPAU’s services are focused to support UP’s goal which is: “Key international partners and knowledge networks will be identified, sustained, and further developed in order to strengthen the University’s research capacity and linkages” (UP Strategic Plan - 2025 : Page 7).

IPAU is responsible for:

  • Facilitating international partnerships
  • Project management and coordination of UP funded international programmes.
  • Handling of international institutional and faculty agreements (Memorandum of Intent, Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) which are related to formalizing international partnerships.
  • Arrangement and coordination of visits to UP by international partners seeking new partnership.
