Note that All first year students are required to write an AIM proficiency test before amending their AIM registration. All the information for this proficiency test is provided in the 1-page information leaflet which can be downloaded here together with the dates and times for each faculty/program. This proficiency test is used for the registration of the correct AIM module(s).

Third Year Electives

Students interested in pursuing the postgraduate degree BSc(Hons) Actuarial Science must choose IAS 361 and IAS 353. Academically proficient students may consider enrolling for the additional elective IAS 382 to be eligible for exemption from Subject A202.

Exemptions from Actuarial Society subjects (2016 onwards)

For A100 level subjects, students must achieve at least 55% in any one of the original examinations and an average of 60% in all the examinations for the subjects that make up the exemption.

For A200 level subjects, exemption subjects must be taken in the same year, or in consecutive years if second and third year modules count towards an exemption. The exemption mark is determined by an independent external examiner.

Note that only the first exam opportunity is taken into account for exemption purposes, sick or supplementary examinations are not valid for these purposes.
