Research output

The Department is very active in research. Our research output is reflected on the individual researchers' web pages, as well as in the research report of the University. A selection of  the articles are also available on the UP research repository, UPSpace.

In 2013, we published 30 articles in refereed specialist journals, six non-accredited peer-reviewed articles, one authored workbook, one edited book, eight chapters in books, four papers in refereed, published conference proceedings. and one technical report for a client. 
In 2012, we published 40 articles in refereed specialist journals, one authored book, five chapters in books, seven papers in refereed, published conference proceedings. and two technical reports for clients.
In 2011, we published 25 articles in refereed specialist journals, two chapters in books, five papers in refereed, published conference proceedings. and two technical reports for clients.
In 2010, we published 22 articles in refereed specialist journals, six papers in refereed published conference proceedings, two articles in non-accredited journals, and the IFLA World Report 2010.
In 2009, we published 22 articles in refereed specialist journals, five articles in peer-reviewed journals and three papers in refereed, published conference proceedings.
In 2008, we published 34 articles in refereed specialist journals, one book, four papers in refereed, published conference proceedings and two research reports for clients.

    In 2007, we published 41 articles in refereed specialist journals, five chapters in books and three research reports for clients, as well as a number of further outputs not listed in the report, inter alia the IFLA/FAIFE World Report, Access to libraries and information: Towards a fairer world (edited and co-authored by Bothma, TJD), available online at http://www.ifla.org/faife/report/world_report_2007.htm. In 2005, we published 30 articles in refereed specialist journals, five papers in refereed, published conference proceedings and two research reports for clients.
In 2004, we published 39 articles in refereed specialist journals, one paper in refereed, published conference proceedings and two research reports for clients.
In 2003, we produced 27 articles in refereed specialist journals and four papers in refereed, published conference proceedings.
