First Year camp 2011

Posted on March 07, 2011

The second day was great. The day began early at 5 am. The guys went for a shower and then a game drive which was fantastic. When they returned they had breakfast. The first order of the day was an obsatcle course which none of the groups completed. There was body check after that and then the campers had free time. After free time it was lunch. After the lunch everyone was taken to the dam in the area where they swam and played in the mud. Everyone had a great time. When they returned to the camp site, the campers had an opportunity to get cleaned up befor there next challenge. The final challenge was a play. Each team had to create a play that would entertain the judges. Each team was hilarious. After the play it was supper and then the night was left to the campers to enjoy with a bit of socializing.

The next morning was the worst as everyone knew it was the final morning of a truly great camp. Rise and shine was at 6am followed by a game walk. When everyone returned they had to pack up. The Humanities introduced themselves again to the campers and then the bus came. Everyone said goodbye to Linos, Ivan and Sam and thanked the for their hospitality and kindness. We reached campus back at about 14:00 and it was emotional as people had to say there last goodbyes. The feedback was good as all the campers said that they enjoyed camp camp.

All in all it was a great experience. Everyone enjoyed the three days of fun, adventure, mischief and laughter. Freinships were made that will last more than a life time. Adn that is what the humanities faculty house is about: Teamwork, friendship joy laughter, an experience that its members and everyone involved will never forget. You are young once in your life so why not be silly run around like an idiot sometimes and enjoy your university experience because the miserable years are coming but life is to short to miss out on. Live life with zero regrets but pages full of memories.

God bless :-)
