Posted on September 29, 2016

Hpc sponsored Olympian race walkers, Lebogang Shange and Wayne Snyman competed in the Taihu Race Walking Multi-Day Competition in Wuzhong from 25 – 28 September.

The Taihu Race is a four day event. The first stage is over 20 km, the second is 9 km, which is followed by 7 km on day three and a final stage of 9 km.

International race walkers like to refer to the race as the ‘Tour de France of international race walking’ because, like the famous ‘Tour’, the winners of each stage get to wear a yellow “jersey” the next day.

Wayne’s team ‘Extreme Beef’ finished 2nd overall in 10:47:06 while Lebogang finished 4th overall in the individual race in 3:34:00.
