Professor Leon Pretorius (GSTM) and Professor Tinus Pretorius (GSTM) both received the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) Service to the Management of Technology (MOT) Community Award for 2015 during the recent IAMOT 2016

Professor Leon Pretorius (GSTM) and Professor Tinus Pretorius (GSTM) both received the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) Service to the Management of Technology (MOT) Community Award for 2015 during the recent IAMOT 2016 International Conference held in Orlando Florida USA from Professor John Aje. The awards were in recognition of valuable contribution in support of the MOT community. Nominations for the award are normally from the membership of IAMOT and selection is by the Award Committee. Dr. John Aje, the president of IAMOT, in his letter to the winners wrote “It gives me a great pleasure to inform you that the IAMOT Service Award Committee has selected you as the recipients of 2015 Service Award in recognition of your several years of dedication and service to the MOT Community culminating in one of the most successful IAMOT annual conferences, in Cape Town.. You will be given this recognition and award during the 2016 Conference in Florida.  Congratulations!!!”

Professor Leon Pretorius was also recognised for his role as Chair of the IAMOT 2016 Conference held in Orlando where he was responsible for the technical program, paper review process and acted as editor of the peer reviewed proceedings of the conference. 276 abstract submissions, representing more than 510 authors and 29 countries around the world, were received for the IAMOT 2016 conference on relevant MOT topics. After the peer review process there were more than 120 final full conference papers included in the published conference proceedings of IAMOT 2016. (01/06/2016).
