Geoinformatics student won the 2018 Esri Young Scholar award

Lehlohonolo Thipe was awarded the 2018 Esri Young Scholar award by Esri South Africa for his BScHons Geoinformatics project entitled, The Evaluation of animated 3D geovisualizations for teaching of the El Nino phenomenon at the University of Pretoria. The aim of the project was to evaluate the effectiveness of animated 3D geovisualisations for the teaching of El Nino. This project evaluated animated 3D geovisualizations that were created using ESRI technology. As the 2018 Esri Young Scholar, Lehlohonolo will attend the Esri User Conference in San Diego, United States of America in July 2018. This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity to hear from GIS innovators, world leaders, industry trend-setters, explore beautiful museums, all accompanied with great food, awesome entertainment and engaging activities.
