The University of Pretoria Football Club (AmaTuks) would like to confirm that they have parted ways with Head Coach Sammy Troughton with immediate effect.

Dr Rendani Mulaudzi, CEO of AmaTuks, stated: ‘Although we are parting with Coach Troughton in the middle of the season, we shall always hold him in high esteem for his loyalty and acumen, and for the many years during which he was an integral part of our programme. We wish him the best as we part ways and we would like to thank him sincerely for the role he played in making our football programme and AmaTuks what they are today.’

The club announced that Mr Shaun Bartlett has been appointed the new Head Coach of AmaTuks with immediate effect. According to Dr Mulaudzi, this change in coaching staff is motivated by the need for new ideas, and a new approach and focus. He explained: ‘We feel that Coach Bartlettt will bring some freshness and innovative ideas and programmes to our football programme.’

Coach Bartlett will be ably assisted by Coach Evangelos Vellios, Goalkeeper Coach Tendai Tanyanyiwa, and the rest of the technical team.
