Faculty's Veterinary Academic Hospital's Equine Clinic fully operational again

The Faculty of Veterinary Science’s Equine Clinic in its hospital is open for business again from today after a temporary closure of the Clinic. In a statement, the acting Director of Clinical Services of the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital (OVAH), Prof Marthinus Hartman, said the reopening of the Clinic is due to the arrival and appointment of several highly qualified specialists who have joined the staff complement of the Clinic.

The Equine Clinic which offers various equine related services including video endoscopy, anaesthesiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, equine performance, dentistry and soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, now has a staff complement of 6 including two residents.

Patients can be referred by email ([email protected]) or through the 24-hours referral cell number (076 143 3655). Equine practitioners can also make use of the OVAH’s general 24-hour telephone number 086 100 8387 to book appointments.
