The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria is proud to announce that another UP Law Mooting team has walked away with mooting laurels from a recent 'Beyond Research FCTC Moot Court Competition' in Lusaka in the Republic of Zambia.  The team consisted of oralists Palesa Serumula and Tebello Mosweu and coach Ashley Makgatho.

According to the Beyond Reseach webpage the judges were impressed with the second oralist, Palesa Serumula, in particular.  According to Judge WIlliam Mweemba 'Palesa was very clear and precise, and made very clear references to the respondent’s memorial'. He further noted that her argument was the most persuasive of the four speakers. The other judges applauded all four participants stating that they knew their facts well and that they were confident.

Students had to argue a hypothetical case between The Association of Laila Cultivators of Tobacco (LCT Association) versus The Langarian Ministry of Health.
