Background : Lecture
The Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria cordially invites you to a public lecture by distinguished critical legal scholar, Professor Makau Mutua.
There is no doubt that human rights has been the most powerful political-moral idea of the last 100 years. But in the last two decades, the human rights idiom has suffered fatigue, some argue fatally. If so – and this is arguable – what could, or has, replaced human rights? Should we declare the death of human rights?
