Students and other interested parties are invited to attend a panel discussion on: "Policing with Human Rights - Promoting peaceful & inclusive societies"
Download the invitation in PDF format
Date: Thursday 18 January
Time: 18:00
Venue: SG1, Alison Richard Building
This panel discussion brings international experts from the United Nations into conversation with academics based in Cambridge and elsewhere to explore the role of police, the act of policing, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The SDGs emphasise the importance of providing access to justice and building accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels (SDG 16), but what are the existing challenges—especially those surrounding use of force—and how can they be addressed so goals such as those laid out in the SDGs can become a reality?
