CHE confirms accreditation of TuksLaw LLB

Posted on November 15, 2017

The Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria is proud to announce that the Council for Higher Education confirmed the accreditation of the UP Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Programme on 14 November 2017.

The CHE considered TuksLaw's Improvement Plan Analysis Report on 9 November and confirmed as follows: 'The Improvement Plan presented by UP shows that the University has taken measures to address all the issues raised in the HEQC report'. The Higher Education Quality Committee's (HEQC) revised their finding from 'Re-accreditation subject to meeting specified conditions' to 'Accreditation confirmed'.  TuksLaw and two other South African universities have received accreditation of their LLB programmes.  Accreditation refers to a recognition status granted to a programme for a stipulated period of time after an HEQC evaluation indicates that it meets minimum standards of quality.

The Faculty conveys its appreciation to all role players in the accreditation process.
